Privacy policy
This policy covers Fanquizz: the website fanquizz.com, home of all our mini-games, and the Fanquizz Android app (com.fanquizz.twa), which displays the same site. The games are free, need no account and show no ads.
What we store
- Game progress: saved on your device first (browser storage).
- Automatic anonymous account: when you earn experience, an account with no name or email is created to keep your level, skins and saves. It is tied to a cookie and deleted after 120 days without a visit.
- Optional account: if you create one, your email address, a display name and your encrypted password (scrypt, never stored in clear). With “Sign in with Google”, your Google ID, email and profile picture.
- Multiplayer: a nickname picked from generated suggestions (“Turbo Raccoon 42”), never your real name or free text; your leaderboard scores; your challenges; the teams, ghosts or levels the games then offer to other players; reactions (👍) sent and received. Other players only see your nickname, skin and scores.
- Game statistics (games started, levels finished, durations, where the visit came from): tied to a random device ID, never to your identity.
- Cookie: just one,
fq_session, to keep you signed in (180 days). No advertising or tracking cookies, no ad networks. - Only if you tick “Tell me about new games”: your consent and its date.
Why
To run the games, your account, your saves and multiplayer, and to improve our games. Legal basis: providing the service you use and, for “new games” emails, your consent.
“New games” emails
We only email you if you asked by ticking the box (never pre-ticked), only to announce a new game, rarely. You can stop at any time from your profile or with the unsubscribe link in every email.
Sharing
We never sell or rent your data and share it with no advertiser. It is hosted on our server in Europe. Third-party services: Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google, and Google Fonts to display fonts. Links to Discord, YouTube or Instagram open those services, which have their own policies.
Android app
The app displays fanquizz.com in Chrome. It requests no special permission (no contacts, location, camera or microphone) and collects nothing more than the website.
Children
The games can be played without giving any personal information. The email account is optional: if you are under 15, ask a parent before creating one. Multiplayer nicknames are generated so that no real name is ever shown.
Retention
Account and saves: until you delete your account. Anonymous account: 120 days without a visit. Multiplayer opponents: your last 5 per game, offered for at most 60 days.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all your data (saves, scores, multiplayer) at any time from your profile with the “Delete my account” button. For any access, correction or deletion request, or any question: motaraetiennepro@gmail.com. You may also contact your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
